VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 6-ranked Georgia Southwestern State University men's golf team punched its ticket to the NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday, finishing fourth overall at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional hosted at Valdosta Country Club.
Battling through one of the strongest regional fields in DII golf, the Hurricanes posted rounds of 279 (-9), 284 (-4) and 287 (-1) to finish the 54-hole event at 14-under par. The 20-team field featured 14 of the top 20 nationally ranked programs, including seven teams ranked inside the top 10.
Georgia Southwestern secured one of the seven qualifying spots for the NCAA Division II National Championships, which will be held May 18-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. The Hurricanes advance to the national finals for the fourth time in the past six seasons.
GSW finished behind only No. 16 Nova Southeastern University, No. 1 University of West Florida and No. 2 Lee University while finishing ahead of nationally ranked programs including No. 4 Florida Southern College, No. 3 Wingate University and No. 10 Columbus State University.

Hurricanes Earn Nationals Berth
Sam Brown led the Hurricanes with a tie for fifth-place in a field of 102 golfers with an 8-under par after rounds of 67, 70 and 71. Brown recorded another steady round on Saturday, carding birdies on holes 6 and 15 while finishing the tournament as one of the top par-3 players in the field. Brown ranked second overall in par-3 scoring at 2-under for the week.
Jordan Jones finished 4-under for the tournament and tied for 14th overall following a final-round 71. Jones continued his strong play on the par-4 holes throughout the regional, finishing tied for third in the entire field in par-4 scoring at 5-under.
Sacha Corlouer closed the tournament at 2-under par and tied for 18th overall after an even-par 72 in the final round. Corlouer opened the week with a strong first-round 72 and remained under par throughout the tournament against one of the nation's top fields.
Stefan Rojas finished even par for the tournament and tied for 25th after shooting a 1-over 73 on Saturday. Rojas contributed key counting scores throughout the week as the Hurricanes stayed consistently inside the qualifying line.
Oscar Hammar rounded out the lineup for Georgia Southwestern, finishing tied for 60th overall at 6-over par after a final-round 73.
As a team, the Hurricanes separated themselves with consistency throughout the lineup. GSW led the entire tournament field in total pars (183) and recorded the fewest bogeys of any team with just 35 over 54 holes.
The Hurricanes also led the field in par-3 scoring (+2) and ranked second overall in par-4 scoring (-1), showcasing the balanced play that helped GSW navigate the toughest regional in the country.
