No. 7 Hurricanes Ride Corlouer’s Ace to First-Round Lead at PBC Championship

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 7-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team opened the Peach Belt Conference Championship in dominant fashion Sunday, carding an 8-under 280 to take the early lead after the first of three rounds at the World Golf Village King and Bear course.

The Hurricanes hold a six-shot advantage over No. 18 USC Beaufort (-2), while Columbus State sits in third at even par in a tightly contested field.

GSW was paced by a standout performance from Sacha Corlouer, who fired a 5-under 67 to move into a tie for first individually. His round was highlighted by a hole-in-one on the 227-yard, par-3 12th, part of a stellar effort on the short holes where he played the par 3s at 3-under. Corlouer also added an eagle and finished with 13 pars in one of the top rounds of the day.

Sam Brown followed with a 2-under 70 to tie for fifth, recording five birdies and turning in a strong back-nine 33 to keep the Hurricanes' momentum going. Brown also excelled on the par 3s, finishing 2-under on those holes.

Oscar Hammar contributed a 1-under 71 to close the day tied for 10th, matching Brown with five birdies while taking advantage of the par 5s, finishing 3-under on the long holes.

Jordan Jones added an even-par 72, highlighted by a steady round that included 13 pars, while Stefan Rojas rounded out the scoring with a 1-over 73. Rojas made his mark on the par 5s as well, finishing tied for the best mark in the field at 4-under on those holes.

As a team, the Hurricanes showcased a balanced performance across the course, combining efficient scoring on par 3s with strong play on the par 5s to build an early cushion atop the leaderboard.

Georgia Southwestern will return to the course Monday at 8:30 a.m. for the second round of the three-day championship, looking to maintain its position at the top of the standings.
