Corlouer Becomes First Hurricane Named to GCAA All-Freshman Team

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University men's golfer Sacha Corlouer recently earned selection to the Golf Coaches Association of America 2026 NCAA Division II All-Freshman Team, becoming the first Hurricane in program history to receive the honor.

The GCAA announced the honor as part of the organization's release for the 2026 Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine. Corlouer was one of five freshmen nationally selected to the All-Freshman Team.

A native of Noumea, France, who joined the Hurricanes for the spring season, Corlouer quickly became one of the top newcomers in NCAA Division II golf. He finished the year ranked No. 22 nationally and helped lead GSW to a Peach Belt Conference championship and an appearance at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship.

Corlouer highlighted his freshman campaign with an individual victory at the Argonaut Invitational on March 31, claiming medalist honors in Georgia Southwestern's final tournament before postseason play.

Across eight events during the spring season, Corlouer recorded two top-10 finishes and five top-25 performances while shooting par or better in 14 of his 24 rounds played.

Corlouer joins an elite national freshman class that included Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award recipient Octavio Laurent of University of South Carolina Beaufort along with Mattia D'Errico of Wingate University, Gabriel Hull of Emmanuel University, and William Partner of Columbus State University.
