AMERICUS, Ga. – Georgia Southwestern State University senior Peyton Namyslowski, junior Caylee Johnson, junior Maggie McDonald and sophomore Pyper McCard were named to the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Softball All-Academic Team released by the league Wednesday afternoon.

Johnson, an exercise science major from Samson, Ala., maintained a 3.76 grade point average. In her first season with the Lady Hurricanes, she led the team with 105 2/3 innings pitched while recording six wins and six complete games before suffering a season-ending injury in mid-April.

McCard, a nursing major from Ashburn, Ga., earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average. She paced the GSW pitching staff with a 3.30 earned run average and seven wins in the circle. McCard tossed nine complete games and three shutouts during her sophomore campaign.

McDonald, an exercise science major from LaGrange, Ga., also maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average. The junior pitcher and outfielder started 36 games and ranked third on the team with six home runs. She also batted .317 in Peach Belt Conference play.

Namyslowski, a communications major from Jacksonville, Fla., finished with a 3.50 grade point average. The senior catcher and designated player started 45 games and led the Lady Hurricanes with eight home runs during the 2026 season and earned PBC Player of the Week on February 9.

The all-academic team is a part of the PBC's larger initiative to celebrate the academic achievements of PBC student-athletes.

To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor (pitchers qualify with a minimum of 17 games or 35 innings); 2) achieve a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) reach sophomore athletic and academic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference sports communications professionals oversee the program.
