NORMAN, Okla. -- For the second time in his career, Darcy Donaldson is among the nation's top five coaches in NCAA Division II men's golf.

The Golf Coaches Association of America announced Tuesday that Donaldson has been named a finalist for the 2026 Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips, honoring the national coach of the year across collegiate men's golf. Donaldson previously earned the award in 2020 and is now a finalist for the first time since that season.

In his 14th season leading the Hurricanes, Donaldson guided Georgia Southwestern State University to one of the program's strongest campaigns in recent years. The Hurricanes recorded eight top-four finishes and three tournament victories while climbing to No. 6 in the national rankings via Scoreboard Powered by Clippd.

Georgia Southwestern captured its second Peach Belt Conference Championship in the last four years with a commanding nine-shot victory on April 21. The Hurricanes also claimed team titles at the Bobcat Invitational and the Oldfield Classic during the spring season.

Several Hurricanes also delivered standout individual performances throughout the year. Junior Sam Brown earned medalist honors at the Peach Belt Conference Championship, freshman Sacha Corlouer won the Argonaut Invitational, and sophomore Jordan Jones captured the Bobcat Invitational title by seven strokes.

Donaldson was named Peach Belt Conference Co-Coach of the Year, while Jones earned PBC Player of the Year honors. Brown, Corlouer, and Jones were all selected to the All-PBC team.

Donaldson joins a finalist group that includes Steve Fell of University of West Florida, JD Lamm of Wingate University, Gareth Lappin of Grand Valley State University, and Brian Richey of Florida Southern College.

All five finalists are coaching this week at the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City.
