AMERICUS, Ga. — Georgia Southwestern senior right-hander Jackson Raper has been named Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week following a pair of outstanding performances that helped lead the Hurricanes to two of their four victories on the week.
Raper was dominant in his appearance against the Albany State Golden Rams, delivering a flawless outing over 3.0 innings. He did not allow a hit or a run, while striking out four and issuing no walks. Facing just 10 batters, Raper showcased exceptional command and efficiency, needing only 36 pitches to complete his outing.
He followed with a remarkable and gritty performance against the Columbus State Cougars. Entering out of the bullpen in the top of the first inning, Raper delivered a season-best effort, tossing 8.1 innings while allowing just six hits and one earned run. He struck out three, did not issue a walk, and threw 103 pitches. Raper's outing stabilized the Hurricanes early and proved pivotal in securing the win and completing the series sweep.
