AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University senior pitcher
Evan Koehler added two more accolades to an already historic season, earning All-America honors from both the American Baseball Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
Koehler was named a 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II Second Team All-American, earned 2026 NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-America honors and was named to the D2 Baseball All-American Third Team.
The recognition caps one of the most decorated seasons by a pitcher in Georgia Southwestern's NCAA Division II era. Earlier this spring, Koehler was named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year and the ABCA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year after establishing himself as one of the nation's most dominant arms.
The senior from Orange City, Fla., becomes just the third Hurricane to earn All-America recognition during the program's NCAA era. Notably, all three of Georgia Southwestern's NCAA-era All-Americans have been honored since 2022, highlighting the continued rise of the Hurricanes on the national stage.
Koehler put together a remarkable senior campaign, finishing 7-4 with a 3.09 ERA across 96 innings pitched. He led the Peach Belt Conference during the regular season in strikeouts (114), strikeouts looking (34) and innings pitched while ranking second in ERA and opposing batting average (.215). He also tied for third in the conference in victories.
His dominance extended well beyond the conference level. Koehler finished the season as NCAA Division II's national leader in strikeouts and ranked fifth in the country in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 6.33.
Throughout the season, Koehler consistently delivered against some of the top competition in the Southeast Region. His ability to work deep into games while generating swings and misses helped anchor a Hurricanes pitching staff that remained among the Peach Belt Conference's best throughout the year.
The All-America honors add to an impressive list of accomplishments for Koehler, who also earned First Team All-Peach Belt Conference, First Team D2CCA All-Southeast Region and First Team ABCA All-Southeast Region recognition during his senior season.
Koehler's record-setting year leaves a lasting mark on the GSW baseball program and places him among the most accomplished pitchers in school history.
