COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern softball scored 10 runs as they defeated the University of Montevallo 10-3 in game two of the Cougar Classic Monday afternoon.

Game 2 W, 10-3 Montevallo 

Katelyn Wood jump-started the offense hitting a two-run home run to center field in the first inning and the Hurricanes never looked back. Ansley Duffey added a home run to right field in the sixth inning that sealed the game for the Hurricanes. 

Hannah Holloway turned in a good pitching performance she pitched a full game giving up three runs and striking out 6 batters. 

The Hurricanes will face off against Tuskegee University to close out the Cougar Classic Monday evening. 

Game 3  W, 3-1 Tuskegee University

Georgia Southwestern State softball records two hits as they defeated Tuskegee University 3-1 in the final game of the Cougar Classic. Katelyn Wood and Isabel Marcotte both recorded RBIs Wood recorded 3 RBIs in the two games.

Savana Bradford had a good game on the mound as she pitched 5.2 innings allowing five hits and recording eight strikeouts

Despite recording two hits in the game GSW benefitted from four Tuskegee errors that lead to GSW runs. 

The Hurricanes will stay on the road as they take on West Georgia (1-4) in a doubleheader at the West Georgia Softball Field Tuesday first pitch at 3:00 p.m.
