DAHLONEGA — Georgia Southwestern gave No. 1 North Georgia
a fight, but in the end, Sarah Phillips was too much.
The Lady Saints pitcher pitched a pair of complete games,
striking out 19 combined as North Georgia beat GSW 5-3 and 3-0 on
Friday.
Megan Wilkinson led GSW (14-27, 2-12 PBC) in Game 1 with two
hits, as she and Lyndi Duff had the only RBI for the Lady
Hurricanes.
North Georgia (31-0, 14-0) built a 5-1 lead in the fifth thanks
to four hits in the frame.
Lauren Dykes led the Lady Saints with three hits and two RBI.
Mariko Nomura (5-15) took the loss, pitching 4.2 innings and
allowing five runs on six hits.
GSW had one hit in the second game off the bat of Gabby Buck.
The Lady Saints had seven hits in the game and scored one run in
the first, fifth and sixth innings.
Jessica Martin (3-8) pitched six innings and allowed three runs
on seven hits in the loss.
GSW played at Lander on Saturday.
