NORMAN, Okla. – The Georgia Southwestern State University men's golf team will open the 2026-27 season as the No. 3 team in the country following the release of the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek NCAA Division II Coaches Poll by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Friday.
GSW received 387 points in the preseason voting, trailing only defending national champion Florida Southern and Lee. Florida Southern collected 13 first-place votes and 430 points to take the top spot, while Lee received two first-place votes and 398 points.
The preseason ranking extends one of the longest-running marks of consistency in the GSW men's golf program, as the Hurricanes have now appeared in the Top 25 in 57 consecutive Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Polls. GSW has not been ranked lower than No. 19 at any point during that stretch.
The Hurricanes are one of three Peach Belt Conference programs ranked among the nation's top five. Columbus State checks in at No. 5, while North Georgia (No. 14), USC Aiken (No. 15) and USC Beaufort (No. 21) give the PBC five teams in the preseason Top 25.
GSW returns five golfers from last season's Peach Belt Conference championship squad in
Sam Brown,
Sacha Corlouër,
Elias Järn,
Jordan Jones and
Stefan Rojas.
Brown, Jones and Corlouër all earned PING All-America honors last season. Brown was named to the Second Team, Jones earned Third Team recognition and Corlouër received Honorable Mention honors. Corlouër was also named to the GCAA Division II All-Freshman Team.
The Hurricanes captured their second PBC championship in four seasons last spring and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championships, where they reached the match-play quarterfinals.
GSW begins the 2026-27 season Monday, Sept. 14, at The Dewsweeper Invitational at TPC San Antonio.
