HAMPTON, Ga. – The Georgia Southwestern women's cross country team turned in a strong performance Saturday morning, finishing fourth overall at the Clark Atlanta University Panther Invitational held at Nash Farms.
Senior Grettie Reifenberger led the way for the Lady Hurricanes, clocking a 22:42.9 to place seventh overall in the women's 5K field. Her finish marked the best by a GSW runner since Sept. 28, 2019, underscoring her growing impact in her second race with the program.
Sophomore Sonja Bernacki followed in 26:06.0, setting a new personal best, while freshman Crystal Lance added another consistent effort with a 27:32.1 finish. Juniors Madison Griffis (31:34.7) and Maggie McDonald (31:34.8) rounded out the scoring for GSW, crossing nearly together to cap the team's effort.
Georgia Southwestern compiled a team total of 2:19:30 with an average time of 27:54, earning a top-four finish behind Columbus State, Agnes Scott, and Clark Atlanta.
The Lady Hurricanes will continue their preparation for the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Oct. 25.
