ALBANY, Ga.- The Georgia Southwestern State University Women's tennis team swept Albany State 9-0 Sunday afternoon at the ASU tennis courts.
Anneliese Leahy, Lauren Resnick, Anna Kate Shaw, Jamie Thomas and Ashley Denby all swept both of their singles matches 6-0. Sydnee Smith won both her matches for GSW with scores of 6-1.
All three doubles partners won their matches with no hesitation. Both doubles pairs of Carly Cangelosi and Victoria Ondo; and Anneliese Leahy and Jamie Thomas won 8-0. Sydnee Smith and Anna Kate Shaw let one by but still won 8-1.
The Lady 'Canes are now 1-0 in their season and will host Fort Valley Friday, February 6 at 2 p.m. at home in the at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.
