Penalty Kick The Difference In Finale Loss

AMERICUS - Alonso Castro converted a penalty kick in the 18th minute for Talladega College as that was the only scoring in a 1-0 non-conference loss for Georgia Southwestern at Hurricane Field on Tuesday afternoon.

GSW concludes its 2013 season having lost five of its last six matches for a 2-10-3 overall record. Talladega improves to 12-4.

The Hurricanes controlled the ball most of the second half but were unable to capitalize on any openings. While the Tornadoes held a 9-3 shot advantage in the first half, GSW carried a 7-6 edge over the final 45 minutes.

Southwestern also finished the match with an 8-7 advantage in corner kicks.

GSW senior keeper Ryan Tucker saved six in his final collegiate performance, while Floyd Jabrowski stopped five for Talladega.
