Hoang Named All-PBC After One of GSW's Top Scoring Seasons

AMERICUS, Ga. — Georgia Southwestern State University senior forward Theo Hoang has been named to the Peach Belt Conference Men's Soccer All-Conference Second Team, the league office announced Friday, following one of the most productive offensive seasons in program history.

A native of Paris, France, Hoang earned the recognition after leading the Hurricanes with eight goals and 16 points during the 2026 campaign. His eight goals rank tied for fourth in the Peach Belt Conference and tied for 49th nationally among NCAA Division II players.

Hoang's eight goals also place him in a tie for third on Georgia Southwestern's single-season scoring list, trailing only Cesar Rubio-Amaya (2025) and Etchu Tabe (2006), who share the program record with 10 goals apiece.

The senior made an immediate impact to open the season, scoring four goals during the Hurricanes' first two matches. He recorded a pair of goals in GSW's 4-0 season-opening victory over Andrew College on Aug. 27 before adding two more against Embry-Riddle on Aug. 29. His four-goal opening weekend earned him PBC Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors.

Hoang was particularly accurate with his scoring opportunities, placing 20 of his 29 shots on goal for an impressive .690 shots-on-goal percentage. That mark would rank second nationally in NCAA Division II, behind only the current leader at .714. However, Hoang does not qualify for the official national rankings because he falls short of the minimum two shots attempted per game.

The senior finished the regular season ranked third in the PBC in shots on goal (20), averaging 1.18 per match, while his 16 points placed him eighth in the conference. He also converted eight of his 29 total shot attempts into goals for a .276 shooting percentage.

Hoang's selection continues a recent run of postseason recognition for the Hurricanes. In 2025, Rubio-Amaya and Axel-Ambroise Gravel became the first GSW teammates to earn First Team All-PBC honors in the same season. Both players subsequently received D2CCA All-Southeast Region Second Team recognition.

Hoang was one of four forwards selected to the 2026 All-PBC Second Team, joining Henry Okenla of Flagler, Camilo Velez of Clayton State and Dzenan Cerimagic of North Georgia.
