The men's soccer team followed the ladies 2-1 victory earlier in
the afternoon with their own 6-1 win over Florida College in
Temple Terrace, Fla. on Saturday. It was a milestone day as
the 'Canes delivered Coach Russ his first collegiate head coaching
victory.
Freshman Jamie Kiep scored two goals to increase his team-high
total to three on the season. Kiep added an assist.
Freshman Harry Garston, senior Christian Dane, freshman Josh
Rudisill and sophomore Kacey Barnard each scored a goal for the
Hurricanes. Dane, sophomore Sam Hooke (2) and freshman Eric
Lee contributed assists.
The Hurricanes outshot Florida College 18-3 and held a 6-2
advantage in corner kicks.
GSW improves to 1-5 on the season. Florida College falls
to 1-4.
GSW is back in action on Wednesday when they host Savannah
College of Art & Design at 4 p.m.
