The Georgia Southwestern men's soccer team dropped a
season-opening 3-0 decision to Barry University on Thursday
afternoon at Hurricane Field.
Vuk Kojic gave BU an early 1-0 lead when his header found the
right corner of the goal off an assist from Mark Anderson in the
8th minute.
The Buccaneers' lead increased to 2-0 at the 22:46 mark when
Andres Perez broke through the Hurricane defense and pushed a shot
into the right corner past GSW sophomore goalkeeper John
Scharnikow.
BU maintained their two goal advantage until the
83rd minute when Ricardo Ramirez scored on a lead pass
from Perdo Petris up the middle to complete the scoring on the
afternoon.
Scharnikow tallied four saves for GSW. Devala Gorrick stopped
one for Barry. GSW was outshot 14-4.
The Hurricanes are back in action on Saturday at 3 p.m.
hosting Nova Southeastern.
