During the 2026 season, Georgia Southwestern's offense ranked among the Peach Belt Conference leaders, finishing in the top five in batting average, hits, home runs, RBIs and total bases. Senior Evan Wainman earned ABCA/Rawlings Second Team All-Region and First Team All-Peach Belt Conference honors, while Devon Murphy and Kelsen Johnson were both named Second Team All-PBC.

In 2025, the Hurricanes again fielded one of the conference's top offenses, ranking in the top five in batting average, hits, doubles, triples, RBIs and walks while striking out the third-fewest times in the Peach Belt Conference. Cory Lee earned First Team All-PBC honors, while George Davis was named to the Second Team. Senior first baseman Paul Hegeman tied the program's single-season RBI record, and graduate transfer Jarrett Jenkins matched the school record after being hit by 20 pitches.

Prior to arriving at Georgia Southwestern, Chapman served as an assistant coach and later recruiting coordinator at Louisburg College in Louisburg, North Carolina. His responsibilities included coordinating recruiting efforts while working with the hitters, infielders and outfielders.

During the 2024 season, Louisburg finished 34-22 overall and 25-10 in conference play, placing second in the Region X West Division. The Hurricanes ranked among the Region X leaders in batting average, hits, runs, doubles, home runs and RBIs. Five players earned All-Region X honors, including one First Team selection, three Second Team selections and one All-Defensive Team honoree.

In 2023, Louisburg posted a 25-26-1 overall record and finished 5-14-1 in conference play. Three Hurricanes earned All-Region X recognition, including one Second Team selection and two All-Defensive Team honorees.

During the 2022 season, Louisburg finished 31-22 overall and 11-11 in conference play. Four players were named All-Region X, including two First Team and two Second Team selections, while Brian Wilson was named Region X Defensive Player of the Year.

Before joining the Louisburg staff, Chapman spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Francis Marion University, where he worked with the hitters and infielders while also overseeing field maintenance and assisting with recruiting.

In his second season with the Patriots, Todd Mattox earned consensus First Team All-Region honors and Honorable Mention All-America recognition. Mattox led Francis Marion in nearly every offensive category and reached base safely in every game that season.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Chapman played two seasons at Francis Marion after spending his first two collegiate seasons at Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Alabama.

A native of Hampton, Georgia, Chapman graduated from Francis Marion in 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing. He and his wife, the former Erin Bell of Lynchburg, Tennessee, were married in December 2023 and have one daughter, Andie (1).
