AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University placed 89 student-athletes on the 2025-26 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll, released by the league office this morning, with a school-record 40 earning Gold Scholar distinction, an increase of 10 over the previous program high set last year.
The Presidential Honor Roll recognizes the academic achievement of Peach Belt Conference student-athletes competing in the league's 18 championship sports at both full and associate member institutions. The Honor Roll includes all student-athletes who posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the academic year. A total of 1,861 student-athletes were recognized from the league's 11 core institutions, marking the 16th consecutive year the PBC has surpassed 1,000 honorees.
The Honor Roll is divided into four categories: Presidential Scholars, Bronze Scholars, Silver Scholars, and Gold Scholars. Presidential Scholars hold a GPA of 3.0 to 3.24, Bronze Scholars 3.25 to 3.49, Silver Scholars 3.50 to 3.74, and Gold Scholars 3.75 to 4.00.
The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer program led all sports with 19 honorees on the list. The GSW baseball team ranked second with 17 selections. Nearly three-quarters of the department's Honor Roll recipients (74.16 percent) earned either Gold or Silver distinction, marking the highest percentage in school history by more than 14 percentage points.
The women's tennis and women's cross country programs led all GSW sports in percentage of roster on the Honor Roll, as both squads had five of six student-athletes earn distinction. Below are the top five GSW programs in 2025-26 based on percentage of roster represented on the Honor Roll:
