AMERICUS, Ga. – The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team lost, 1-0, to Georgia College on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Hurricane Field in a Peach Belt Conference match.
Georgia College scored the only goal of the match in the 27th minute when Sarah King when Sarah King found the net off a pass through the GSW defense from from Kate Phillips that was directed by Sarah Mason.
The Hurricanes created chances throughout, finishing with five shots and four corner kicks compared to seven shots and one corner for the Bobcats. Anna Wheatley and Delaney Thomas each put attempts on target, but Georgia College goalkeeper Kassidy Fortin made two saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Alana Beddow started in goal for Georgia Southwestern and recorded two saves in 90 minutes of action.
