Garrett & Ndukwe Earn All-Peach Belt Conference Honors

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University women's basketball players Destiny Garrett and Ndidiamaka Ndukwe were named to the 2024-25 All-Peach Belt Conference team. Garrett was named first team while Ndukwe was a second team selection.  

Garrett, a graduate student from Bessemer, Ala., started all 29 games, was a three-time Peach Belt Player of the Week and a two-time NCAA Division II National Player of the Week. This is her second All-PBC award. Garrett scored in double figures in 26 of the 29 games played, including a career-high 34 points on January 29 at Clayton State University. Her 14 assists against Lander University on January 4 is a program high. 

Garrett finished the season the league leader in assists (6.4 apg) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6). She ranked second in the PBC in scoring (18.1 ppg) behind only Ndukwe, seventh in rebounds (6.6 rpg), fifth in field goal percentage (43.3), eighth in free throw percentage (77.7). She finishes her career at GSW as the program's all-time leader in assists (332) and assists average (3.5 apg), while ranking second in free throws made during a career (263) and third in games started (80). Her 160 made free throws this season is a single-season high for GSW and ranked eighth in NCAA Division II in 2024-25 while the 186 assists ranked fourth in DII. 

Garrett is the fourth first team selection in program history. All four Lady Hurricanes have earn their distinction over the past four seasons.

Ndukwe, a senior from Inkster, Mich., started all 29 games and led the PBC in scoring average. Her 19.3 points per game ranked 16th in NCAA Division II and 85.2 percent accuracy from the free throw line ranked 28th. She led the PBC in 3-pointers made per game (2.7), ranked second in 3-point field goal percentage, fourth in free throw percentage and 13th in rebounding (5.6 rpg)

Ndukwe scored in double figures in 25 of 29 games played this season with the highlight being a record-setting performance at Columbus State University on March 5 in the PBC Tournament quarterfinals where she poured in a program-best 38 points, connecting on 5 of 7 from beyond the arc and 9 of 10 from the free throw line. She finishes her GSW career with the second-highest scoring average in program history (14.3 ppg) and ranks fourth in 3-point field goal percentage and free throw percentage. Her 559 points during the 2024-25 campaign is the most by a Lady Hurricane in a season during the program's NCAA era.
