Lady Canes Ready to Build on Momentum Under Coach Tiber

AMERICUS, Ga. – The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team enters the 2025–26 season with renewed excitement and a strong sense of purpose under the leadership of Head Coach Missy Tiber, who is entering her second year at the helm.

After capturing the conference tournament championship last season, Coach Tiber and her staff have brought in 10 new players to join one returner, creating a fresh mix of talent and energy. "We know how competitive women's basketball is in this conference and the expectations, especially at Georgia Southwestern," Tiber said. "They're just all invested in the success of the program."

The Lady Canes' only returner, Shane', understands those expectations well. When asked about her goals for the team this season, she focused on unity and communication. "Having that great chemistry on and off the court... being open about things that we can fix," she said.

With a strong culture already forming and a group eager to learn and grow together, the Lady Canes are ready to continue their upward trajectory and make another statement in the Peach Belt Conference.

The Lady Hurricanes take the court for the first time November 14th in Beaufort, S.C. versus UVA Wise at 7:30pm.
