Josiah Shackleford scored 30 points for the second consecutive game and led a late charge for the Hurricanes, but USC Beaufort had just enough to hold on 92-91 Saturday night in a Peach Belt Conference matchup inside the Storm Dome.
The Hurricanes trailed by 15 points with just under 11 minutes to play but took their first lead of the night six minutes later and extended their advantage to 85-80 with 3:58 remaining. Matt Ansah drove and earned a trip to the free throw line to make it 92-91 with 21 seconds left. The Hurricanes had a chance to win the game with eight seconds left but GSW guard
Antewan Webber Jr. missed the game-winning contested layup as the Sand Sharks held on.
Shackleford finished with his fourth double-double of the season as he pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds. He was perfect from the floor as well, connecting on all 11 of this shot attempts.

Justin Monden both scored 14 points for GSW with Webber Jr. adding 13 points off the bench.
