AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team made program history again Saturday night in a 2-1 Peach Belt Conference victory over Flagler College at Hurricane Field. The Lady Hurricanes, less than two weeks removed from setting single-match program records for total goals, goals in a half, assists and points, proceeded to defeat the Saints for the first time in 14 years.
Chloe Iuliano scored off a corner kick from Rheagan Savage in the 37th minute to give GSW the early lead. It was Iuliano's second goal of the season. The Saints answered with a goal in the 41st minute to send the match into the halftime break even at 1-1.
Ella Moody delivered the game-winner in the 78th minute when she took a rebound off a pass from Siamoee Bagnost and punched a sliding shot past the keeper for her third goal of the season.
The GSW defense and goalkeeper Alana Beddow held off Flagler for the final 12-plus minutes for the victory. Beddow finished with six saves.
The Lady Hurricanes resume Peach Belt Conference play on Saturday when they travel to the University of South Carolina Aiken (2-6-2, 1-2 PBC) for a 4:30 p.m. match.
