ALBANY, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team defeated Albany State University, 4-0, on Wednesday night earning a season sweep of the Golden Rams.

Both teams battled in the first eight minutes of the match until GSW scored on a goal from Lucia Bustamante and from then on the Lady Hurricanes never let up. 

Ellie Carrington recorded her second goal of the season on an assist from Jackie Stokes as GSW led 2-0 at the end of the first half.

Sophia Kotopka joined the party in the second half on an unassisted goal that put the Lady Hurricanes up 3-0. She recorded three points on the night thanks to an assist in the first half.

Freshman Phoebe Whalley got an invitation to the party scoring her first goal as a Hurricane that sealed the 4-0 GSW victory.

Both Kotopka and Bustamante recorded one goal and one assist earning three points on the match and an overall great night for the Lady Hurricanes.

GSW returns home to face off against Georgia College & State University in a Peach Belt Conference match on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
