GSW Baseball Rained Out

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia Southwestern Baseball season got a little shorter today with the cancelation of today's game at Thomas University due to rain. Rain has canceled or postponed numerous games through the Hurricanes' season, and it has affected some of their remaining games. The game between the Night Hawks and Hurricanes will not be made up.

It has been one of those kinds of years for the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes and Mother Nature. Inclement weather has forced numerous reschedules and cancellation of games, and it will again affect the Georgia Southwestern Baseball schedule.

GSW's final Peach Belt Conference series of the season versus Montevallo has seen a change in scheduled start times as well. The Hurricanes and the Falcons will now play a double header on Friday, April 20th starting at 3 p.m. This will be Senior Day for Georgia Southwestern, and Coach McLain and company will have their senior ceremonies in between game one and two of the double header against Montevallo.

The two teams will play their rubber match on Saturday, April 21st with first pitch scheduled tentatively for 1:00 p.m. Inclement weather is due to hit the southwest part of the state sometime in the late afternoon or early evening on Saturday.

The two teams had originally been scheduled to play one game on Friday and a double header on Saturday. However, they will now play two on Friday and just one game on Saturday to counteract the inclement weather.
