SAINT LEO, Fla. - Career nights from seniors Brandi Burris and Brittany Reynolds were not enough as Georgia Southwestern dropped its second game in as many nights, 81-72 to Florida Southern College on Saturday at the Sleep Inn Classic at Saint Leo.

Burris finished with a career-high 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting, including one three-point basket, and 5-of-7 from the free throw line. She added eight rebounds. Reynolds connected on a career-best nine field goals (9-of-16), while making 2-of-4 from the charity stripe and pulling down nine boards. Whitley Wiltz came one rebound shy of her career-best as she grabbed 16 boards.

For the second straight evening the Lady Hurricanes were involved in a back-and-forth affair as there were ten lead changes on Saturday.

A jumper from Florida Southern's Chelsea Johnson with two seconds left in the first half gave the Moccasins a 37-35 lead at halftime.

GSW went ahead by three early in the second half, and led 48-47 with 15:26 remaining, but Florida Southern (3-1) tied the contest at 50-50 with 14:30 to go. At that point, Johnson took over. The FSC guard produced a sensational run, scoring the Moccasins' next 16 points to push the lead to 68-55 and put the game out of reach. 

Johnson was 14-of-24 from the field, including five three-pointers, and 5-of-7 from the free throw line. She finished with 38 points, delivering 26 of the 38 points in the second half. Michaela Hawley was the only other Moccasin to score in double figures, as she had 12.  Nicolle DiRaimo pulled down 13 rebounds.

The Lady Hurricanes (1-2) return home on Tuesday to face Truett-McConnell at 5:30 p.m.
