Savannah Ross enters her second season as the head coach of the women's cross country program at Georgia Southwestern in 2022. Under Ross' leadership the women's cross country team has had two runners selected for the Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction and one for the Peach Belt Conference Sportsmanship Award. She has also had a runner post a Top 10 overall 5K time in program history. During her first season as coach, her team had the highest finish at each race in program history as well.
 
Ross, a product of Buchanan, Ga., began her running career at Haralson County High School her freshmen year. She ran for four season with the Haralson County Rebels. During that time she set the school record in both cross country and track in fall 2014 and spring 2015. She was also the first female at the high school to make it to state in both sports during those years.
 
Ross continued her education at Georgia Southwestern in the fall of 2015 where she continued her running career as a Lady Hurricane. Savannah spent four years at the university and still holds a Top 10 record in the 6K event. Savannah was a Peach Belt All-Acedmic Award recipient and an All-Sportsmanship Award recipient during her time in Americus. In 2019, Savannah graduated Georgia Southwestern with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and shortly after in 2021 was offered to come back to her alma mater as a head coach.
