ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The No. 7-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team opened its spring season with a strong showing, tying for third at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, hosted by Lincoln Memorial University and completed Tuesday at the par-72, 7,136-yard St. Johns Golf Club.
The Hurricanes finished at +24 over 54 holes (296-305-293), matching No. 10 Catawba for third place in a loaded 18-team field that featured seven programs ranked in the top 25 of NCAA Division II.
No. 8 St. Mary's (TX) claimed the team title at +1, while No. 18 North Georgia placed second at +11.

Hurricanes Shine on Par 3s
One of the defining storylines of the week was Georgia Southwestern's dominance on the short holes.
The Hurricanes led the entire field in Par 3 scoring, averaging 3.10 (+6) — the best mark among all 18 teams. They also ranked fourth in Par 4 scoring (4.21, +32), showing consistency across the most demanding stretches of the course.
Player Highlights
Sacha Corlouer — T11 (+5)
Corlouer paced the Hurricanes in his debut, finishing tied for 11th after rounds of 71-76-74. He opened the tournament with a 1-under 71 and played the Par 3s at even par for the week. His steady ball striking kept him inside the top 15 throughout the event.
Stefan Rojas — T19 (+8)
Rojas carded rounds of 73-78-73 and rebounded nicely on Tuesday with a 1-over 73. He recorded key birdies on the front nine during the final round to climb back into the top 20.
Sam Brown — T19 (+8)
Brown produced one of the best rounds of the week for GSW with a 2-under 70 in Round 2, the Hurricanes' low round of the tournament. He followed it with a 75 on Tuesday to secure a top-20 finish.
Oscar Hammar — T26 (+9)
Hammar bounced back from a challenging opening day with a strong closing round of 1-under 71, highlighted by steady play down the stretch. He finished the tournament with five birdies over his final 36 holes.
Jordan Jones — T29 (+10)
Jones posted rounds of 74-77-75 and contributed important counting scores in all three rounds as the Hurricanes battled in a tightly packed leaderboard.
Individual Medalists
The tournament title was decided by a playoff between:
Ilia Antoniadis (Catawba) – 71-75-71 (-1)
Baptiste Touchard (St. Mary's TX) – 71-69-75 (-1)
Both finished at 1-under for the championship. Touchard won the first playoff hole.
