Davis Named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University third baseman George Davis was named the Peach Belt Conference baseball Player of the Week on Monday by the league office.

Davis, a senior from Bradenton, Fla., hit multiple home runs in two of the three games he played last week and finished with a 2.029 OPS and 1.429 slugging percentage. He blasted a total of four home runs, drove in eight runs and scored six times. Overall, he finished 8-for-14 (.571) at the plate in the Hurricanes three-game PBC weekend series sweep at Augusta University. He collected at least three hits in two of the games, including a 4-for-5 performance in the finale. In addition, he had a perfect fielding weekend with four assists and a pair of putouts. 

This is the second consecutive season in which two different individuals have earned the player of the week award for GSW. Teammate David Hernandez took home the honor on March 31.
