MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- After a year's absence, the Georgia College & State University men's and women's cross country teams will host the Bobcat Invitational Saturday morning at the Council Farms Cross Country Course.

 

Due to the hurricane, the start times for the races have been pushed back 90 minutes. The women's 5K race will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the men's 8K race at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free for the Invitational.

 

In addition to the Bobcats, 10 other institutions will race in the event. In addition to GCSU, the Bobcats welcome Peach Belt Conference-foes Augusta University, Flagler College and Georgia Southwestern State University to the Invitational. Clark Atlanta University, Fort Valley State University, Georgia Military College, Middle Georgia State University (women only), Morehouse College (men only), Reinhardt University and Shorter University are also expected to compete.

 

GCSU are the defending women's team champions, while the University of West Alabama won the men's team title when the Bobcat Invitational was last held in 2022.
