The Georgia Southwestern cross country team finished in second place on Saturday at the Darton Invitational in Dawson. The three-team event, although six schools had runners in the field, was held at Skiles Farm.
Kelsey Baker led the way for GSW, finishing fourth of 24 participants with a time of 22:33.37.
Casi McDonald was right on her heels, crossing the finish line fifth overall in 22:41.24.
GSW placed runners in the 12th-14th spots with Mollie McGowan (24:06.93), Katy York (24:43.52) and Leady Cuellar (25:01.08).
With 19 points, hosts Darton College finished ahead of the Lady 'Canes (48) for the team title.
Bri Badie from Darton crossed the finish line first with a time of 20:40.74.
Southwestern travels to Oxford, Ala. on Saturday, Oct. 9 for the
Foothills Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State University
