'Canes 8th at Jaguar Invitational
EVANS, Ga. - The Lady Hurricanes cross country team finished eighth on Saturday at the nine-team Jaguar Invitational, hosted by Augusta State University, at Blanchard Woods Park.
Senior Ambur Humphrey led the way for GSW, finishing the 6,000-meter race 30th with a time of 28:55.90.
Freshman Cameron Rigsby and senior Stevi Korczyk were 35th and 44th, while freshman Katy York took 45th and junior Danielle Jordan crossed the line in 48th place.
With 39 points, the host Jaguars easily outpointed runnerup Anderson (69). Montevallo (84), Lander (100) and Erskine (119) rounded out the top five.
Anderson freshman Whitney Bishoff established a new Blanchard Woods Park course record with a time of 24:10.10, followed by ASU's Forward at 24:23.30. Coker's Kendyl Seawright, Montevallo's Ginny Davis and Lander's Claudia Nunez-Lopez rounded out the top five.
GSW travels to Anderson, S.C., October 11 to compete in the Trojan Invitational.
