McSwain Recieves All-Academic Honorable Mention

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Georgia Southwestern State University sophomore Jasmine McSwaine has been mentioned in the Peach Belt Conference women's basketball All-Academic Team Honorable Mention for the 2013-14 season.

McSwain, a native of Marietta, Ga., owns a 3.3 grade point average as a business major.

On the court, the 5-11 forward averages 11 points per game. McSwain has started in 19 games and has played 27.6 minutes per game. The shooting guard is 87-269(32.3%) from the field goal range. She has also recorded 99 rebounds, 36 assists, and 48 steals.

The Lady 'Canes (9-15, 4-13) return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Clayton State at 1:30 p.m. for Senior Day and Pink Day in the Storm Dome.

The All-Academic squad is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for this honor, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of her team's events; have achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and completed at least one full academic year at her current institution.

The 23 players honored represents the most honorees ever for women's basketball.
