North Georgia's Second Half Rally Downs GSW, 83-73

AMERICUS - The Lady Hurricanes couldn't ride the wave of momentum of a strong first half effort as North Georgia rallied back to earn an 83-73 decision on Senior Night at the Storm Dome.

GSW fought hard in the first half as the Lady 'Canes outrebounded the Saints 24-15, including snatching down 14 offensive boards, to take a 38-33 advantage into the locker room. 

In the second half, North Georgia outscored the Lady Hurricanes 50-35 off blistering 67 percent shooting (18-of-27) to earn a 83-73 decision.

Kayla Dayton came off the bench to pace GSW with 18 points (6-of-14 shooting) while Ottishia Burden chipped in 14 points for the Blue and Gold.

Southwestern's lone senior Briana Walker added eight points and four rebounds in her final game as a Lady Hurricane.

Reigning PBC player-of-the-year Jaymee Carnes led North Georgia (12-14, 10-9 PBC) with 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting.

GSW (3-22, 1-18 PBC) ends the 2012-13 season by outrebounding the much taller Saints, 42-36, but North Georgia finished the game shooting 57 percent (32-of-56) compared to just 38 percent shooting from the Lady Hurricanes.
