Hurricanes 7th After Round 1 At Southeastern Collegiate

VALDOSTA, Ga.- The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team sits in seventh of 18 teams at the Southeastern Collegiate Tournament hosted by Valdosta State after firing a 297 in Round 1 on Sunday at the par 72, 7,113-yard course at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

Of the 18 teams competing in the 54-hole event, 14 teams have been ranked in the Top-25 of the most recent Bushnell Golfweek NCAA Division II Coaches Poll and two have received votes including GSW.

No. 9 Florida Tech leads the tournament with a five-under 283, No. 1 West Florida sits in second with a four-under 284 and No. 2 Lynn is in third with an even-par 288.

Ethan Chamineak leads the Hurricanes posting a 73 to sit tied for 10th of the 93-player field. Vincent Norrman sits one stroke behind teammate Chamineak with a 74 and is tied for 22nd. Nicholas Ward and Nix Duncan both posted 75's to sit tied for 29th and Tyler Barker sits tied for 84th with an 81.

The Hurricanes will tee off Monday for Round 2 starting at 8:30 a.m.
