Strong Start

AMERICUS - Off the heels of a strong junior campaign where he was the first player in school history to qualify for a birth in the NCAA Division II championships and was named a third team PING All-American, GSW senior golfer J.P. Griffin has picked up exactly where he left off.

After averaging 69.50 in two rounds and finishing second in the 95-player Kaiwah Island Invitational, Griffin is now ranked 17th in the nation in the current Golfstat Cup player rankings. These rankings consist of every golfer in junior college, NAIA, and all divisions of the NCAA.

The men's golf team is back in action on Monday, Oct. 1, as they travel to Columbus, Ga. to participate in the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational at the Country Club of Columbus.
