AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern's Andrew Ritchot was honored by the Peach Belt Conference Thursday afternoon as the PBC Golfer of the week as GSW wins the award for the second consecutive week.
A native of Lethbridge, Alberta, Ritchot carded a four-under-par 209 to finish in a tie for fifth place Tuesday at Barry's Buccaneer Invitational in Miami Shores.
The sophomore shot rounds of 74, 68 and 67 to help the Hurricanes to a fifth-place finish in the 14-team field which featured three of the top-five ranked teams in the nation including #1 Nova Southeastern and #2 Barry.
Ritchot jumped 25 spots in the final round with his 67, his lowest round of the year and second-lowest on the team. He also had his first career top-five finish, beating three players ranked among the top 20 nationally in stroke average.
Georgia Southwestern will return to the links Saturday, April 20, at the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Pine Mountain, Ga.
