GSW slips to 12th at Buccaneer Invitational

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - The Georgia Southwestern golf team shot a final-round 308 on Tuesday, the high score of the day, to slip from ninth to 12th place out of 14 teams in the Buccaneer Invitational at Normandy Shores Golf Club.

Craig Gibson shot the low round of the day for GSW with a 75 and tied teammate J.P. Griffin for 39th place overall with a three-round total of 224 to lead the 'Canes in the 81-player field.

Nate Gahman posted a 226 total and tied for 46th for GSW. Reese Moseley finished two strokes behind Gahman, with a 228 and John Wilson Gordon shot a two-day total of 255.

Jack Bartlett from No. 20 Nova Southeastern finished with a 2-under 211 to earn individual medalist honors.

Host Barry University won the team title, despite shooting an 11-over 295 on Tuesday, finishing with a 2-over 854. Fourth-ranked West Florida could only gain a stroke on Barry over the final 18 holes and and finished six strokes back with an 860.

The Hurricanes conclude the regular season at the Peach Belt Conference Championships next week, Apr. 11-12, at Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler.
