‘Canes finish tied for 11th at Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate

The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team shot a final-round 324 to finish tied for 11th place at the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon at the Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.

The Hurricanes finished the two-day tournament with a 625 total, 40 strokes behind team champion Columbus State, who shot 293 on Tuesday to finish with a 585 total. GSW was only nine strokes out of the lead after day one, but struggled on the tournament's final day in the 16-team field. 

Clayton State, the first-round leader, shot 298 on Tuesday to finish four strokes off the pace with a 589 total. Lander carded a second-round 297 to finish with a 590 total, two strokes ahead of Armstrong Atlantic.

Senior Adam McKenney shot a seven-over-par 79 in round two for Southwestern, finishing the tournament with a six-over-par 150 total, tying for 15th individually.  Senior Jordan Britt shot a second-round 81 and finished with a 156 total, tying for 35th individually. Senior Michael Harris fired an 81 as well on Tuesday to finish with a 14-over-par 158 total, while junior Tyler Williams shot an 84 on Tuesday, finishing with a 162 total. Sophomore Reese Moseley rounded out the Southwestern scoring after a second-round 83, finishing with a 166 total.

The Hurricanes will next be in action on February 23rd and 24th, at the AASU/Southbridge Pirate Invitational at Southbridge Golf Club in Savannah.
