AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern senior forward Daryl Davis has been named the Peach Belt Conference men's basketball Player of the Week.
Davis averaged a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in two wins for the 24th-ranked Hurricanes. He shot 72.2 percent from the floor, including a perfect 6 of 6 in the 'Canes Peach Belt opener against Georgia College on Saturday, and blocked four shots.
The Mobile, Ala., native is currently third in the league in total rebounds and eighth in blocked shots. He becomes the program's eighth Peach Belt POTW since GSW joined the NCAA in 2006-07 and the first since teammate Alan Arnett took home the award Feb. 4, 2013.
Davis and the Hurricanes travel to Clayton State on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
