AMERICUS - Tuesday evening (Mar. 1) the Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team will host the first-ever NCAA postseason game in school history.
The Hurricanes take on the Clayton State Lakers (19-9, 10-7 PBC) at 7 p.m. GSW (19-7, 12-5 PBC) is the #1 seed in the West Division. The Lakers enter as the fourth-seed out of the West.
The two teams split the regular season series 1-1 with each team winning on the opponent's home floor.
The winner will advance to the tournament's semifinal on Saturday March 5 to face the UNC Pembroke (E3)/USC Aiken (E2) winner in USC Aiken's Convocation Center in Aiken, S.C.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and official Peach Belt Tournament merchandise will be on sale.
Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 & under, and $3 for senior citizens 55 & older. Georgia Southwestern students and students of any Peach Belt Conference school get in free with their student ID.
