AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern junior forward Phillip Brown was named a Third-Team All-American today by Basketball Times magazine. This marks Brown's second All-American honor in less than a week.
The Jonesboro native – who was named an All-American by the National Basketball Coaches Association on Mar. 22 – finished the year averaging 14.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Brown shot 62.9 percent from the field, leading the PBC in both rebounding and field goal percentage. He ranked second in the conference in blocked shots and finished 11th in scoring.
A 6-foot-7 transfer from the Air Force Academy, Brown recorded 14 double-doubles this season and scored in double-figures on 24 occasions. In addition, he pulled down double-figure rebounds 16 times.
Brown is the only player from the Peach Belt Conference on the list.
GSW finished its 2010-11 season with a 20-9 record and advanced to the NCAA National Tournament for the first time in program history.
