AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team (16-4, 9-2 PBC) jumped two spots to No. 16 in the latest NABC/Division II basketball rankings released Tuesday afternoon.

Regionally, the Hurricanes rank third in the Southeast as unveiled by the NCAA earlier today.

The Hurricanes went 2-0 last week and defeated a pair of then-regionally-ranked teams in the process, winning at Clayton State, 78-67, and against Montevallo, 68-55.

Southwestern received 78 points, 15 shy of No. 15 Cal State-Dominguez Hills.

West Liberty (W. Va.) is ranked first for the fourth-consecutive week and received 200 points in the poll.

GSW travels to the seventh-ranked team in the Southeast, Armstrong Atlantic on Thursday.

The Hurricanes continue to rank near the top of D-II in several categories, including scoring defense (9th out of 275 teams), field goal percentage defense (14th), scoring margin (15th) and rebound margin (25th).

Individually, Phillip Brown moved up a spot to 11th in D-II in field goal percentage (64.3) and up to sixth in rebounds per game (10.5).
