AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team (17-5, 10-3 PBC) slipped six spots, but remained nationally ranked at No. 22, in the latest NABC/Division II basketball rankings released Tuesday afternoon.
The Hurricanes went 1-1 last week, losing at Armstrong Atlantic, 86-80, and winning at Flagler, 80-76.
Southwestern received 36 points, two shy of No. 21 Northern Kentucky.
West Liberty (W. Va.) is ranked first for the fifth-consecutive week and received 200 points in the poll.
The regional rankings released by the NCAA come out on Wednesday. GSW is currently third in the Southeast Region.
The Hurricanes host Georgia College on Wednesday and travel to North Georgia on Sunday.
The Hurricanes continue to rank near the top of D-II in several categories, including scoring defense (11th out of 275 teams), defensive field goal percentage (16th), scoring margin (18th), free throw percentage (25th), three-point field goal percentage (26th) and rebound margin (30th).
Individually, Phillip Brown ranks 13th in D-II in field goal percentage (64.7), sixth in rebounds per game (10.6) and 25th in blocked shots per game (2.1).
